Robert Harry Peterson, 69, passed away peacefully October 15th. Born on April 23, 1956, in Phoenix, AZ, Bob was a lifelong resident who loved the Arizona sunshine. Bob went to East Valley High School then attended Phoenix College and graduated from Arizona State University. Bob proudly played college golf for both schools. Golf was not just a hobby for Bob – it was a lifelong passion. Over the years, Bob was a longtime member of Mesa Country Club, and later Arizona Country Club, where he spent a lot of time and made many friends. Bob also returned often to Papago Golf Course where he grew up and spent most of his youth learning the game.
After college, he joined his father, Pete, and brother, Jim, in the family business at Town and Country Motors, where he spent 43 years, retiring in May 2022. After retiring, Bob embraced his love of travel, exploring the world and visiting many beautiful destinations.
Bob was involved in his community and was known for his compassion and willingness to help anyone seeking support and guidance. Bob loved spending time in and around the water – boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and finding beaches with good waves for body surfing. Escaping the Arizona heat for the cold water of San Diego was among his favorite things.
Bob was a proud father and is survived by his son, Mitchell Peterson (Brooke), and daughters, Kaitlyn McMurray (Patrick) and Kellie Cox who will forever cherish his love, laughter, and generous spirit.
