Born in El Paso, Texas, Stephen lived in the Dallas and surrounding areas until moving to Arizona at the age of 46.
Steve attended Baylor University but ultimately graduated from University of Texas Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in information systems. He remained a lifelong Baylor Bears fan.
Steve had a passion for history, especially military history.
His career as a computer programmer/contractor over the decades saw him travel all over the country for multiple different corporations.
During his free time, he wrote and copyrighted Military War game rules and painted multiple 25mm military figures for armies to use in his game.
Steve was a baseball coach and attended every game and practice over the years; his son Stephen played both baseball and football.
He loved outdoor grilling, and would grill steaks for his family to enjoy at every opportunity. He also enjoyed rocketry and astronomy, as his life was all about learning; as well as acquiring knowledge about many things and then sharing that knowledge with others.
He leaves behind his son, Stephen F. Wicker Jr., and his ex-wife and companion, Carol J. Lewis, both of Scottsdale, AZ; as well as his sister, Sharon Ward, of Texas.
