Susan was preceded in death by her husband, David Gray in 2012 after 47 years of marriage, and by their son Andy Gray in 2017. She is survived by daughter Terri Cochran married to Lawrence and daughter in law Meredith Phillips Gray. Susan is also survived by her four grandchildren: Shannon Cochran and Ian, Ella, and Quinn Gray. She is also survived by her brother Larry Andrew.
Susan was born in Silver City New Mexico to Milton Andrew and Marjorie McConaha Andrew, but moved to Scottsdale at age three along with her older brother Larry Andrew. In her early years of life and in marriage, she invested in solid friendships that have lasted her a lifetime. She is an active and longtime member of North Phoenix Baptist Church. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother to her husband and children, she spent many years working with a wonderful teacher group from Ocotillo Elementary School where she made many lifelong friends. Susan also worked in the local real estate community, and was also active in a local P.E.O chapter. In her more recent years, she spent endless hours participating in the lives of her grandchildren, and lunch dates too numerous to count with friends she held dear. In addition to staying active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, Susan had a large extended family in both Oklahoma and Indiana, and maintained strong family ties, traveling to visit all of them as often as she could. Some of Susan's favorite memories came from trips, cruises, and other adventures with friends and family. Destinations included Europe, the Caribbean, New England, and we must not forget her beloved Lake Tahoe.
A Memorial Service will be held for Susan on Saturday, October 20th at 2PM at North Phoenix Baptist Church – 5757 N Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012. A reception will follow the service in the lower Chapel.
