Thomas Georg Sommer

Thomas was born in Frankfurt, Germany on December 27, 1957 to parents, Christa and Kurt Sommer. Thomas spent his early life in Frankfurt Germany. After the passing of his father, his mother remarried Albert Herdan, also gaining him a sister, Corinna. He moved from Frankfurt to Northern Germany (Ostfriesland). Little did he know, this would lead him to the love of his life, Birgit, bringing a long happy marriage of 37 years. Thomas and Birgit had a need to fulfill their adventurous side leading him to accept a job opportunity in beautiful Cincinnati. His career would provide him with much travel and more adventures. Alongside his career, he enjoyed watching his children grow. He enjoyed going to his son’s football games as well as his daughter’s horse shows. During this time his passion for cooking really took flight, he became known by friends and family for his extravagant meals. Always still having the urge to experience new things, once his children moved into adulthood, Birgit and Thomas made their final move. In Arizona, his passion for music led him to the piano, he would spend countless hours practicing his crafts. Thomas also enjoyed spending time with his dog Bailey and is now again reunited with his best friend.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Birgit Sommer; son, Roland Sommer; daughter, Rita Sommer; grandchildren Heidi, Oliver, Fabian and Rosie; brother-in-law Ralf; sister Corinna; and cousin Erika.
