

Timothy Mark Sturm, 63, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born August 6, 1954 in Barberton, Ohio and moved to Phoenix in 1985 with his wife, Mary Ann, and nine-month-old son, Daniel.
Tim graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in 1972, and held Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from the University of Akron and Arizona State University.
Over the course of his career in Education, he taught at Nordonia, Mesa, and Avondale High and Middle Schools; was Principal and Assistant Principal of Pinnacle Education and AAEC Charter High Schools; and Managing Director of A Road 2 Learning, an educational services company working with over 2,000 students annually. In business, he began his career at General Tire, was a National Sales Manager at Penn Racquet Sports, and President and Owner of a marketing and business development consulting group, Construction Consultants Inc. Most recently, he was a CMT Training Officer II for the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Tim will be fondly remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, wisdom, and leadership. He was a loving father and loyal friend. He rescued dogs from the Arizona Humane Society, all of whom he named after Little Rascals characters. He shared his love of sports by watching, playing, and coaching football, lacrosse, baseball, basketball, golf, and soccer.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Anne (Leskanic) and Fred Sturm, as well as his lifelong friend Gary Shrader. He is survived by his only son, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Amanda (Crosby); Daniel's mother, Mary Ann; his sister Marsha; brothers Fred, Patrick, and John; and lifelong friends Eddie and Mark, and the rest of the Aranyosi, DeAngelis, and Shrader families.
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery in Scottsdale, AZ. Visitation will be from 10am to 2pm, with the burial shortly thereafter at 3pm.
