Walter Robert Bass

Walter Robert Bass, age 86 passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013. He was born July 15, 1927 the youngest child of 6 to Herbert and Olive Bass in Willow Springs, MO. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He also lived in Marion, IN, was married and later moved his family to Phoenix, AZ driving a 1951 Studebaker. Walter went to work as a machinist in 1953 for AiResearch Mfg. which later became AlliedSignal, then Honeywell and worked until retiring in 1992. Walter loved his family and his church, cooking, reading, listening to music, especially The Gaithers and busy doing projects around the house and yard and helping others. Walter was like a jack-of-all trades and a friend to all.

He is survived by his children, Sherry (Tom) Dunn, Bonnie (Alan) Ferguson and Anthony Maselli, his 2 granddaughters and 5 grandsons, Barry and Kerry Harp, Casey Cowden and Clinton Ferguson, Travis, Branden and Michael Maselli, 9 great-grandchildren and also his long-time girlfriend, Lin Ensworth.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Tempe Nazarene Church, 3929 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ 85282. Condolences may be left on Walter’s online guest book at www.greenacresmortuary.net
