William "Bill" H. Eckhardt Jr.

77, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Those who knew Bill knew the things he did in life, including photography, dancing, bowling, and fishing, he did with great patience, passion, and attention to detail, and that he enjoyed sharing his experiences with others. He was born on August 1, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to William H Eckhardt Sr and Beatrice F (Woullett) Eckhardt. He graduated from Chisholm High School and Hibbing Junior College in Minnesota. He was employed by the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation for over 30 years. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothymae Eckhardt, parents William and Beatrice Eckhardt and sister Cheryl Eckhardt. Survived by sisters Sandy Eckhardt of Hibbing MN, Judy (Gregg) Freeman of Chisholm MN, Dianne (Ron) Klancher of Owatonna MN, brother Terry (Bev) Eckhardt of Eagan MN, daughter Jolene (Paul) Durand of Grant MN, granddaughter Margaret Durand of Grant MN, step-daughter Lori (Kurt) Rippentrop of South Haven MN and step-son Mike (Jana) Dodds of Red Lake FallsMN. Memorial service on Saturday September 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7100 N Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253.
