Oh man, where do I start?  My Uncle Bill got me interested in building model cars when I was a kid.  He blew my mind with the awesome details and perfection he put into building one model in particular... it was a 1/8th scale of the John Player Special Formula One racer.  I loved that car!  It was AWESOME!  Several years later when I was in High School, he gave it to me as a gift!  I took it to school and showed it to the staff. 
They were soooo impressed with it that they placed in on display for several months in a glass case at the campus library!  One day, while cleaning the case, a student dropped it, and it shattered beyond repair.  Whenever I think about my uncle, I always think about that beautiful model car he built.  It was one of MANY model cars that he built over the years.  The time and the attention to detail he put into building models was always reflected in the fantastic beauty of the final product when he finished it!

After his passing, I gathered up his belongings, and among his possessions was a model that he had no doubt built during his model-building years and kept for nearly 40 years.  It's a 1/16th scale 1969 Lola T70.   It's dusty and needs to be cleaned up.  It's absolutely beautiful!  Again, the details are phenomenal.  He used actual wires on the motor and other places under the car where nobody sees.  He painted the smallest of details like the silver head on every bolt, even the ones that weren't easily visible or not visible at all!  That was his attention to detail on full display.   When he got me into building models, he passed that attention to detail mindset onto me, and I've applied it throughout my entire life.

Thank you for instilling the attention to detail mindset into me at a young age, Uncle Bill.  It has become a trait that has served me well in life.  I owe it all to your example.  I miss you with every fiber of my being.  I can't wait to see you and Grandma again at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!  Oh, glorious day!!
