Alex was a true friend that will be missed by all of us that had the pleasure of being part of his life.......I will miss our phone calls to  connect and  check on each other while we chatted about our families---we never did talk much work as he preferred to share stories of his experiences and talking about his kids/grandchildren..........He was always the organizer of getting people together for an "all you can eat" buffet when someone came into town or just to get our team together from time to time and we would marvel at his repeated trips to get more crab legs---the man could eat his weight in crab legs............

I will miss my friend greatly----his family was his passion and I so enjoyed hearing about his children's achievements and how much he was enjoying being a grandfather----it gave him so much joy........My thoughts and prayers to his family during this tragic time........RIP my friend.

I personally only met Alex twice but felt like I knew him very well through my husband, Thane. They worked together for many years, and I know Thane held Alex at a mentor level, as well as a friend. Thane always looked forward to meeting Alex for sushi and conversation when he would be in the Seattle area. I joked the one time I saw Alex that he had had more “dinner dates” with Thane than I had recently  because Thane had been working away from home for a couple weeks. 

Alex brought us some amazing Korean pork and beef once when he came over our way. We asked him for the recipe a few weeks later. He sent it to us, but it was all written in Korean. Alex had a really good laugh when we called him and asked if he could translate. 

The two times I met him, I knew he was a man who lived by strong character and integrity, who valued loyalty, and who deeply loved his family. He will be greatly missed. I am thankful that I was able to meet him and that he was part of my husband’s life.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. 


Alex was one of a kind and will be missed. Family, pride and heritage was what he enjoyed discussing when he wasn't focused on business matters. Alex spoke in such adulation of his wife, children and grandchildren that it was crystal clear to everyone what mattered to him most.  Over the years he provided me with valuable advice on how to connect with my teenage daughter, I remember him telling me on a few occasions  " get your daughter away from the TV/I-Phone and go for a long walk with her before it's too late."  Alex also had a tremendous and often blunt sense of humor which I fell victim to the very first day I met him. The first time I spent a day with Alex I met him at his residence ( very early in the morning as he requested) and he mentioned that he would appreciate a cup of coffee, but only coffee from his preferred coffee house because of the beans they use.  Alex drove me over to a  parking lot that had  a drive through coffee shack and rather hastily asked me to walk over to the window and purchase two cups, which I did- without realizing before it was too late that the barista was scantily clad.   When I looked back at Alex in his car, there he was smiling. 

Alex was such a kind and caring man. When we would have our team meetings in Seattle he would always make sure to get the entire team together for sushi or for a traditional Korean meal at his home.  He was always there when you needed him. 
Alex loved his family more than anything and I know they loved him back just as much. 
You will be missed Alex! 

I was on a business trip to the Seattle area and Alex came by the hotel to take me to his favorite all you can eat buffet. The Feast. After eating way too much food he took me to a popular spot in Seattle where you could see the Space needle with the city in the background. 

I will miss Alex. He was one of a kind. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. 

Alex was one of a kind.  It was a pleasure to work with Alex for many years.  And while Alex was passionate about his career nothing brought out a smile on his face as when he spoke of his family.  His family meant everything to Alex and he would speak with such passion and pride of their accomplishments.  

One of the best memories of Alex was meeting him for dinner one night in Seattle with Randall.  On the way to all you can eat Snow Crab at a local casino he took a detour to show us Snoqualmie Falls.  To enjoy the beauty prior to dinner.  Then at dinner I had to stop eating because I could not eat another bite I was so full.  Alex looked at me, gave me a wink and said “I’m just getting started”.  That was Alex.  One of a kind.


Many of us knew Alex from the industry as a Travelers Adjuster. We used to call him the "Smoking Gun". He would come in to the shop to go over a supplement, keep scratching through estimate lines, "Nope, cant pay for this, that, not that, or this, or that..." Always making it a point to chat and smile as would attempt to deny... It was his job, and we took no offence. He would sit in the lot and want to chat for 45 minutes as he rifled down two or three smokes every time (Hence the nickname "The Smoking Gun") One fond memory I have of him, was when i took a group of Boy Scouts on a long hike up to the top of Wallace falls. We where all out of breath and hiked our tales off until we got to the top. As we approached the top, I looked around at all of My Boy Scouts to watch how exhausted they where from the hike and make sure they where all accounted for and safe.  Out of the corner of my eye, as i gasped for air from the hike, there was Alex, sitting on a rock,  smoking a cigarette like the hike was nothing. All these years working on claims with him, Alex has always been about one thing, .....his family.  He was a great man, and will be missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Rest in Peace. 

Alex will be greatly missed.  He was a great coworker and friend. We shared many great meals and stories of our days. He  was very proud of his children achievements and being a grandpa. My condolences to the family. 

Alex was a great man! I had the opportunity to work with him for years. Every time I was in town he would make time to have a meal with me. He showed me a lot of great places to eat and scenic area. We had great talks about life and family where I saw and heard how much he loved his family. He was so proud of his kids and how well they did in school. He also would tell me all about his grand kids and how he loved coming home to see them. He was a great leader and mentor, he will be missed.

I will miss Alex’s smile, the sparkle in his eyes when he spoke of his grand children.  He was such a proud proud grandpa. His stories of clam digging, cherry picking, blueberry picking.  My heart is so heavy. Rest In Peace my friend.  My deepest condolences to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers
