"Gram"
Arlet was born on July 24, 1926 in Sisseton, SD to Elmer and Edna Kleven. Arlet was the 4th of 7 children. After moving to Seattle she attended Garfield High School. The family later moved to Lake City where Arlet worked at the Navel Hospital in North City. This is where she met Lawrence (Bud) Guyette and was married on November 20, 1945. She worked as a retail clerk/bookkeeper for Bartell Drugs.
They started their family with the birth of their daughter on Fathers Day June 16, 1946, (Kandie Rae of Lake Tapps). Their second child, Lawrence Stephen, was born on their anniversary November 20th, 1953. And in 1955 their second son, Lonnie Ray, was born on February 9th.
Arlet was probably the only woman to EVER have a Turkey Dinner on a silver platter delivered by firemen into her room at Northgate Hospital. The volunteers didn't want her to be without a Thanksgiving so they drove the ladder truck to her. This caused quite a commotion around Lake City.
During this time they lived above a drug store on 125th in Lake City. After the new fire station was built, Arlet, Bud and Kandie moved to the new fire station to become Care Takers. This gave Arlet the position of having to answer all the fire calls, ring the fire bell for all the volunteers to hear and for Bud to run from his job at Bill Pierre's where he started the truck and headed to the fire. All the while Arlet rang the fire bell and posted where the fire was on a sign in front of the station so the volunteers would know where to go.
In 1954 the family moved to Kenmore, where they built the first of four homes. The fourth home was completed in July of 1963. This is the home that Arlet lived in for 52 wonderful years.
Arlet had many hobbies: knitting, cooking, baking, crocheting, sewing, gardening, watching her grandchildren and great grand children, and her nieces and nephews. Her house was the fun house in the neighborhood. She also accompanied Bud in many outdoor adventures: hunting, fishing (both creek and ocean), cutting wood, riding motorcycles. and one of the best times were the yearly trips to visit the Bliss's in the mountains of Montana. They usually took at least 2 grandchildren. This tradition is still being carried on by the children and their kids.
On July 4th of 2013 Arlet broken her hip and from that time on she's had different medical issues. She moved into Brittany Park in Woodinville where she completed her life. On June 29th at 5:20 where she went to see our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
She joined her husband of 43 years Lawrence "Bud" Guyette and many loved ones in heaven on June 29, 2015. She is survived by her three children Kandie Thomson, Bud Guyette (Alicia), and Lonnie Guyette (Dorothy).
