Bonnie Jean Warden, age 93, passed away on August 1, 2012 in Redmond, Washington. Bonnie was born on December 30, 1918 in Prue, Oklahoma to Lee and Ollie Dell Brown. Bonnie had one sister, Frances, and five brothers: Ray, Edward, Charles, Morris, and Clark. Bonnie loved basketball and played for the Vera, Oklahoma girl’s basketball team when they won a state championship. The day she graduated, her family moved to the town of Wapato, Washington, where Bonnie got a job as a telephone operator and met her husband Robert Warden from Yakima. They were married in Ellensburg in 1940. The first part of their married life was on a ranch in Belvedere, a small town not far from Grand Coulee Dam, where they raised sheep until 1949. They then moved to Elmer City, where Robert worked on the dam's second power house. While in the Coulee area, they belonged to the Moose lodge, where they enjoyed dancing and listening to the big bands. Their last move was to Seattle. In 1992, Bonnie was preceded in death by Robert, her loving husband of 52 years. Bonnie is survived by her son Curtis (wife Susan) of Bellevue; daughters Gail Trevathan (husband Tom) of Cle Elum and Roberta Gamble (husband Sam) of Rathdrum, Idaho; grandchildren Kimberly, Elizabeth, Gretchen, Neil, and Josie; and great-grandson, Trevor. She will be missed by all of us.
