Carl Edwin Evensen passed away in Everett, Washington on April 1, 2017 at the age of 79. Carl was born July 20, 1937 in Seattle, Washington to August and Margaret Evensen, the eldest of 2 sons. He graduated from Ballard High School and then served in the Naval Reserves. In 1955, Carl married Leona Lee Almo and they were married 46 years until her passing.
Most of his occupational life, 41 years, was spent as a Boeing Flight Mechanic. He also traveled the world delivering new planes to various destinations for Boeing. Beyond his work at Boeing, Carl's real passion was Cars. He loved restoring cars when he was younger. Later in life he enjoyed model car kits and collecting many things related to cars.
Carl was a man of very few words, who taught by example. He loved sharing his skills with anyone and everyone. These skills included "the sky", such as, if your space shuttle couldn't fly - he would fix it! If your house needed repairs, he would fix that too. So, the standing joke amongst the family is that, when a job is complete, you stand up ; tug up on your britches and shout out "fixed it"!
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Margaret, his wife Leona, infant son Martin (twin of Marie) and eldest daughter Linda Evensen-Kish.
He is survived by his daughters Marie (Leo) Lambert, Betty (Ed) Petrullo and Carla (Henri) Lefebvre. He is also survived by his sons Wayne (Betty) Evensen and Ronald (Vickie) Evensen as well as his brother Harry (Cheryl) Evensen. Carl leaves behind a legacy of 11 grandchildren; Stephen, Bryan, Leslie, Edward, Lauren, Samantha, Shawn, Molly, Scott, Linda and Greg and 6 great grandchildren.
