.
Carole attended Duluth’s St. Anthony’s grade school, graduating from Duluth Cathedral HIgh School in 1961. As a young girl, Carole studied dance and piano. She carried her love of the piano and music through to her final year of life. Her most recent favorite song to play on the piano was “I’ll Be Seeing You”. At school she was a member of the cheerleading squad.
While enrolled in a painting class at the University of Minnesota Duluth she met the love of her life, Jerry Lynn Calhoun. They married October 8th, 1966 at St. John’s Church in Duluth. In the years between they lived in Chattanooga, Nashville, Denver, & Memphis. In Memphis, Carole worked to support Jerry as he completed University of Tennessee Dental School and as he opened a dental practice in Duluth. Eben Lynn and John Charles were born during those early years in Duluth.
In 1980 the family relocated to Federal Way, WA. Carole enjoyed the snow free winters while tending to her family and cherished gardens that her Westie dog Teddy patrolled. She later joined Jerry as the dental office manager & assistant until their retirement in 2016. Carole considered their patients as part of her extended family, many spanning the entire 35 years they worked in Federal Way.
She loved her family, the focus and core of her life. She loved to help everyone and was always thinking of others before herself. She is dearly missed by all.
Carole is survived by her husband Jerry, sons Eben (Kelli) and John (Xiulian), brother Alan (Sally) and sisters Margie (Dennis) and Kathy (JIm) and sister-in-law Karen (Gordon).
