

Clara Helena Corbin passed away August 16, 2011 surrounded by her immediate family. Clara was born in Mt. Vernon, WA on August 21, 1913 to John and Marit Stensen. Her family settled on a thriving dairy farm on the banks of the Stillaguamish River near Silvana, WA. After graduation from Arlington High School, Clara moved to Seattle; attending business school; then ultimately working for North Coast Lines where she met her future husband, James Mentzer Corbin. They purchased a home in Auburn, WA where they raised their two children; James J.J. Corbin (Patricia Bergen Corbin) and Crystal Kay Corbin (Thomas J. Moehlman). Clara derived endless joy while watching her three granddaughters grow into successful adults (Nancy R. Corbin, Erika K. Corbin and J’aime C. Moehlman). Clara’s entire family (many nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren) continually share stories of the antics of Clara and her three siblings who all survive her (Ingvard Stensen, Selvin Stensen, Ida Erickson Cooney). Clara was preceded in death by her husband and son. A celebration of Clara’s life will be held Sunday, August 21, 1:30 pm at Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Seattle WA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances would be welcome at the White River Valley Museum or the Auburn Senior Center.
