Eunice Maxine Peers, of Seattle, WA, graduated to heaven on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She passed two days prior to her 98th birthday. Eunice was born on November 13, 1927, in Superior, WI, and raised on the family farm in Dewey, WI, until the family moved to Morgan Park in Duluth, MN, when she was 11 years old. Eunice graduated from Morgan Park High School in June of 1945. After that, she went to work at a bakery.
Eunice came to Seattle in 1950 to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding, where she met Grant Peers, who was the best man. As expected in any great romance story, Grant became the love of her life. They were married in Seattle, WA, on June 15, 1951, and started their family in July, 1952. Family was everything to Eunice, and nothing pleased her more than gathering with all her children and their families.
Eunice began working for the Seattle School District when her youngest child began school and continued to work there for 20 years. During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, helping her children, and volunteering at Mt. St. Vincent Retirement Home and the Clothes Closet at Westwood Christian. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarves and loved reading books on her tablet.
Survivors include her children, Darlene Sweet-Gugel, Fred and Sandy Peers (wife), Denise Wallace, Diane Aho, and Kenneth and Cindy Peers (wife), as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her remaining family is confident that there was great rejoicing when she met her Savior face-to-face and reunited with her husband of 36 years, her parents, siblings, and sons-in-law who predeceased her.
