Frank Martinez Gonzalez, 88, passed away at his home in Seattle on August 23, 2014.Born on October 10, 1925 in El Paso, Texas, to Tranquelino Gonzalez and Roqaciana Vasquez Gonzalez, Frank grew up and attended school in Emporia and Armourdale, Kansas along with his older sister and brother, Juanita and Lorenzo. In 1942, Frank joined the Navy (served most notably aboard the Battleship USS California) and proudly served his country during World War II. After the war ended, he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Lawton in Seattle. In 1949, Frank married the love of his life, Mariea. Shortly after, he landed his life career at the Boeing Company and retired in 1984. He was a man of many passions including fishing, hunting, and sports. Frank was also a big fan of the Seattle Mariners. Frank is survived by his wife Mariea of Seattle, daughter Rosemarie as well as many nieces and nephews in the Seattle and Kansas City areas. We will miss and love you always, Uncle Frank!
