Though we do not know you, we are praying for you and grieving with you. Especially today, on the one month anniversary of Garrett's passing. We lost our oldest son on July 16, 2009. There is NOTHING that can prepare a family for the loss of one of their children...it is the most painful thing we have ever gone through. We are praying that God will draw you closer to one another and to Him as you grieve your precious Garrett, and miss him so very much. The pictures of him are so precious...thank you for sharing them.

I am so sorry for your loss. I cant express it enough. I remember playing cops and robbers, kick the can and flashlight tag with Garrett and all the other kids in the neighborhood. Going swimming at OODenny and going hiking at snoqualmi falls... He always knew how to make us laugh. He young departure is beyond unfortunate! I send my love to you and your family! Mitzi, Erika, Dave and to everyone I am so sorry Garrett is gone.  My heart breaks for you all. I thought the Memorial service was so meaningful.  The speaches were perfect. I can't imagine composing such thoughtful, moving tributes while in that kind of pain.  When you played Centerfield while showing the little league pictures it reminded me of when the boys were I think fourth grade. Kyle was throwing warm up pitches before the game with the catcher who was a boy a year older.  Sitting on the bleaches I heard the catcher yell out to Kyle. Stop throwing so hard!!  Then the next pitch he yelled at Kyle again..The next one he baled out of the way and the ball banged off of the backstop and the poor kid started crying.  I thought, Uh O, so I yelled to Kevin that we had a catching problem.  Kevin came out of the dugout saw what was happening and looked out at the field.  He called Garrett in and put him at catcher. He did fantastic and from then out he was our catcher.  I remember later that evening I asked Kevin what made him think of Garrett for the catcher and he said "Garrett's not afraid of anything"
He was an incredibly awesome spirit who will live on in our hearts and memories.

i'm so sorry...i just heard about garrett and i'm at a loss for words. i hope you are doing ok and if you need anything please call me. garrett will be foreever missed and was a great guy..i'll always miss the days we would hang out at the house till the wee hours of the night talking and having fun...his smile and cute charm will be missed always..whenever i think about him i always remember his cheesy grin, the one he would give when he got caught doing something he wasn't supposed to or when he was tring to chram the ladies...loved it! you and your family will be in my prayers...it's just such a shock to hear he is gone...god will bless him though and keep him safe in his arms. god bless and keep strong...i miss you

Dear Mitzi,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish there was something I could say to help ease your pain. I want you to know that I've always held a soft spot in my heart for Garrett.  Whenever I'd walk by, if I would see Garrett, he would always stop to chat and tell me what he'd been up to and his plans. I fondly recall the spring days when we'd watch the kids play baseball down in Juanita...they were so cute!   You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  Garrett had many fine qualities, and those are what we will all remember.
