

George is survived by his wife, Barbara, his two children, Kristin Crane (Jeff) and Todd Carlsen, and his five grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey, Kelsey, Mattie and Mary.
George was born on May 9,1940 to Clary and Mary Carlsen in Seattle Washington.
He attended West Seattle High School and Seattle University before signing up for the US Navy, in which he served for two years. After the Navy, he worked briefly at Boeing, and then opened his own navigation business in Seattle called Carlsen Navigation, which sold charts, clocks, binoculars etc. He had a contract with the US Navy.
George was a loving husband and a dedicated father. He loved sports, especially baseball, and coached for many years with South Highline Little League. He also coached basketball when Kristin and Todd played with HYRA.
George loved Hood Canal as his family had a cabin there on the water. He loved boating, skiing, and fishing.
George loved his family. He loved his Norwegian heritage.
He loved his grandchildren deeply and he was their biggest fan at all their sporting events, plays, musicals etc.
A family funeral will take place on 12-6-23 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Seattle Washington.

A funeral service for George will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126. A reception will occur Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126.
