

Dr. Gerald Robert Hover passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026 in Bellevue, Washington. He was born in San Francisco, California on June 14, 1947. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Doris and Walter Hover, his charming brother, Douglas Hover and his adored partner, Christine Burgess. He is survived by Marion Hover (sister-in-law) Angela Hover (niece) Kevin Hover (nephew) and his cousins, Stephen Baron (Barbara), Patrice Antosik (Michael), Michael Pendergraft (Sue), Barbara Hollenkamp and Michelle Britton and many grand nieces and nephews.
Gerald attended St. Monica’s School and St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco. He graduated with a BA and MA from Gonzaga University. He received his PhD from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. His life was steeped in purpose caring for others. As a psychologist he had a long career in mental health care working for the State of Washington, University of Washington and Interpol.
Gerald will be remembered for his kindness, keen intellect, sensitivity, lively banter and good sense of humor.
His family thanks his dear friends and caregivers who compassionately guided and supported him through his struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, March 3, 2026 at 11:00 am in Kirkland Washington. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, California at a later date.
