Clayton passed away on July 24th, 2017, at the age of 94. The son of Herbert and Vera Poole, he lived most of his life on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He graduated from Queen Anne High school and served in the army in France and Japan. He married Betty Ericksen and they enjoyed 57 years together before her passing in 2008. Clayton took over Poole Electric in 1957 and owned it until 1974. He then opened Clayton Poole and Associates, an insurance agency. He worked there until his retirement in 2007. An avid and skilled outdoors-man and big game hunter, Clayton obtained a Grand Slam of North American Sheep in 1966 – the 91st person in US history to do so. He is survived by his daughter, Tracie Douglas, son-in-law Matthew Douglas and grandsons Clayton and Scott Douglas. He was a hard-working and loving husband, father and grandfather with a wry sense of humor. We miss him.
Arrangements under the direction of Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Seattle, Washington.
