October 5, 1938 - February 19, 2018
Homer was born in Yakima, WA to Cecil and Eva Marie Purdy on October 5, 1938 and passed peacefully on February 19, 2018.
He graduated from the UW, Coast Guard OCS, and the National War College, Captain Homer A. Purdy served 27 years in the USCG before retiring. After retirement he worked 17 years as a Civilian CGPMS Program Manager for Electronics.
Homer is predeceased by his parents and son. He is survived by wife Sue Anne, daughters Kristen Clark (Jeffrey) and Jennifer Mazur, adopted son David, grandchildren Thomas, Katherine, Grayden, Eryn and Ryann, sisters Virginia Leingang and Ione Roberts. Extended family includes cousin Aundie (Bill), 2 step children and 1 step grandson.
As Homer completed the last chapter to the long goodbye of Alzheimer's, staff at Orchard Pointe Memory Care Community provided loving care.
Homer's farewell will be Sunday, March 4th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Johnny's Dock Restaurant in
Tacoma, WA. His cremains will
be interred at Acacia Cemetery in Seattle, at a later date.
