Born to Eugene and Dorothy Seeley in Seattle, Washington, on July 19, 1947, Hugh lived a life marked by service, creativity, and community. After graduating from Chief Sealth high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later found a lifelong passion for photography, capturing the world around him through his lens. An avid reader, Hugh also dedicated much of his time and energy to the local Soka Gakkai International (SGI) Buddhist community, where he found friendship, purpose, and inspiration. Hugh worked for Boeing as a computer aided drafter from 2006 until he retired in 2012.
Hugh shared more than 40 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Aloma Sifuents-Seeley. Together, they raised two sons, Warren and Brian (Ceslee). Hugh was also a loving son, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his wife Aloma, his sons Warren and Brian, and his nephews Patrick and Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy; his sister, Elinor; and his niece, Corrine.
Hugh’s kindness, creativity, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

"The experience of losing a loved one impels us toward a deeper understanding of life. Everyone fears and is saddened by death. That is natural. But by struggling to overcome the pain and sadness that accompanies death, we become sharply aware of the dignity and preciousness of life and develop the compassion to share the sufferings of others as our own." - Daisaku Ikeda
