

Jack F. Nicholson, age 98, passed away May 19th, 2021, from natural causes. He was born in Seattle, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941. He served in the Navy amphibious forces in the Pacific during World War II and the Korean War.
He married Shirlee Dewar, of Anacortes, and they had two children, Andrea (deceased) and John. They were happily married for 33 years until Shirlee’s death from cancer.
Jack started working in the steamship business for American Mail Lines after his discharge from the Navy. He stayed with them and their success, American President Lines, until retirement, at which time he was Northwest Manager for their terminal and stevedoring operations.
In retirement, he became reacquainted with his high school classmate Lorraine Emnott Buhtz on the golf course at Inglewood Gold Club. They fell in love, were married, and enjoyed many wonderful years traveling, golfing, gardening, painting, cheering for the Huskies and Mariners, and just being with family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife Lorraine; son John Nicholson, of Seal Rock, Oregon; grandson Alexander Vollmer and his wife Meredith and great-granddaughter Audrey. Jack was beloved by Lorraine’s children and grandchildren, Darla, Rick, Melissa, Josie, Tyler, Zack, Dana, Kelsey, and Brent.
