Joe Murray, son of the late Jack and Anna Murray, was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1947. He died peacefully at home in West Seattle on January 21st, 2016, six months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He is survived by his son Christian Murray Ph.D. (Claudia) of Houston; his brother and best friend, John Murray; sister Margie (Mike) Prebo; niece Erin Ringer (Clint); grandnieces Anna and Lizzie Ringer, nephew Ian Prebo (Robin Ginnis); and Linda McFarland, with whom he shared his life for 35 years. His intelligence and humor will also be missed by his McFarland “out-laws”, and many friends and coworkers. Joe attended Cooper Elementary, Denny Jr. High, and Chief Sealth High schools and served in the Navy in the Viet Nam war. He enjoyed his work as a demolition estimator, loved reading, going to the movies with his brother, bird watching, photography, and driving his WRX. He and Linda went on many wonderful road trips in Washington and Oregon, where Joe took some great photos. There will be a memorial celebration at the Museum of Flight, February 21st, at noon.
