Josephinea “Josie” Clouseau passed on December 19th, just a few short weeks after a diagnosis of AML. She was surrounded by close friends in the days up to her passing, and knew she was loved. As always, her treasured Mews, Banoonoos, and Cheese never left her side.
Josie loved many things: British TV, Hip Hop (especially Chuck D), Delfino’s Pizza, the Muppets, and comics. She loved 80s nostalgia, Crystal Pepsi, vintage T-shirts and long skirts. She loved saying “have a nice day!” loud enough that people couldn’t miss it. She was immediately recognized in the restaurants she frequented, and so touched when one of them did a social media post about her thoughts on living with autism.
Josie will be remembered for so many reasons but most of all, her enormous heart. She was fiercely committed to the challenges facing the homeless and hungry members of her community. In her final days, she ensured her kindness would continue by establishing a charitable fund that will support her community and causes for years to come.
We extend special thanks to her dear friend and neighbor Carol, truly Josie’s angel; friend and caregiver Shari who was wonderful to Josie in her final days; Dr. Grange and her team who were endlessly kind to Josie and her kitties; and the many friends who came to visit in the past few weeks.
She was memorable, so special, and a huge part of our lives. In honor of Josie, please Be Kind.
