

Kathryn Louise Hamilton McFadden was born in Niangua Missouri on August 27, 1927. She graduated from Niangua High School in 1944 at the age of 16. She was valedictorian of her graduating class. She then took classes during the summer and began teaching grades 1-8 in a one room school house.
She met her future husband, Jerry, on a visit to Seattle in 1951. They married on April 22, 1952. They had four children.
When the kids were in school Kathryn went back to school and completed her teaching degree. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1972. She taught special education for about 20 years in public and private schools. She retired at age 65.
After retirement she and Jerry enjoyed traveling to many countries around the world.
For several years she enjoyed volunteering for World Vision's Kid Reach program at Our Savior's Baptist Church.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 2011. Kathryn passed away peacefully at age 86 on January 13, 2014. She is survived by her daughters Megan Sripranaratanakul and Martha (Randy Branson); her sons, David (Glenda) and John (Michelle); her brother Kenneth Hamilton; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Kathryn was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed hosting family on holidays and playing pinochle with her friends.
The service will be January 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Our Savior's Baptist Church, 721 South 320th Street, Federal Way WA 98003.
