Kay Alison Wicks

Kay Alison (Beyer) Wicks passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, at the age of 82. Kay was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Donald and Alice (Rasmussen) Beyer. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin and nursing school, Kay married the love of her life, Larry Lee Wicks. They were married for 66 years. In 1966 they welcomed a daughter Kristi and in 1969 a son, Erik. Kay and Larry decided early on to head west and raise their family in Seattle, Washington. For over 60 years, Kay was devoted to her career in nursing. Most of those years were spent working at Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington Medical Center. She had a gift of leadership and deeply cherished the friends and colleagues she worked with. Kay found happiness in many other activities including, traveling, celebrating holidays, gardening, and watching her Mariner and Kraken games. She will be remembered by her family for creating a warm, loving, faith filled home. As well as a being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Kay is survived by her husband Larry; daughter Kristi McKibben (Greg); son Erik Wicks, granddaughter Kiersten Ryan (Jeremy); grandson Paul McKibben; and great-grandchild August Ryan.
