

Leslie was born Margaret ("Peggy") Leslie Mulhaney on November 19, 1950 to William C. and Virginia F. Mulhaney in Chicago, Illinois. She was happily married to John Alfred Miller. Leslie is the beloved mother of Jill Nicole Ridder Godina, as well as the beloved sister of Timothy W. Mulhaney and Linda S. Robson.
Leslie loved the Pacific Northwest, trips to the ocean, artistic expression, and sharing about faith, so central to her Catholic journey. She sponsored 28 children overseas and supported many organizations focusing on the poor such as the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
She graduated from University of Washington and University of San Francisco, earning a Bachelor's and two Master's degrees. Her professional career was in Anchorage, Alaska where she spent an adventurous and happy 14 years. Her last career positions were as Director of the Foster Grandparent Program for Anchorage and as Director of Alaska Vocational Services. She became an artist and volunteer after retirement and wrote a book that many have found helpful in their own lives, "Notes from the Sidelines" (Amazon), containing 200 poems about her journey of struggle for perspective and meaning in life, inspired especially by the elderly and other disadvantaged people she met on the way.
