Lois was born to parents Leo and Mae Francis on Jan. 12, 1937, in Medicine Lake, Montana. Lois was the youngest of four girls with sisters Cleo, Beverly and JoAnn.
She and Bruce were married in March 1957 in Bremerton WA and the two moved to the Greenlake area for their first apartment. They very soon relocated to Fort Benning near Columbus, GA where Bruce was stationed for Army Airborne and their first son Mike was born. Upon completion of Bruce’s active duty the young family moved back to Seattle, driving cross country with all three in the front seat, eventually settling in Kenmore, WA, with their second son Rod, born in 1960.
Lois is survived by her husband Bruce, two sons Mike (Sue) and Rod (Gege), four grandchildren Samantha (Kevin), Corbin, Bridget (Brandon) and Blake and two great grandsons Jude and Decker. Lois took immense pleasure in the lives of her grandchildren and seeing them grow to adulthood and raising their own families.
Lois’ favorite places were vacationing in warm sunny Hawaii and Palm Springs, which she and Bruce did often for many years. At home, she was an avid walker with her trusty companion Rusty. She and Rusty walked every day, often for three or four miles in length until this past year when both were slowing down.
Through their walks they met numerous neighbors and developed close friendships. Lois was engaged in charitable events through the years with The Milk Fund and the annual Christmas Show in downtown Seattle.
The family requests in lieu of sending flowers that those interested make donations to the Humane Society, PAWS or any other pet rescue organization of your choice.
A funeral service is scheduled for Lois on Friday, September 6th at Acacia Funeral Home at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside committal service and reception.
