Lyla Irene Johnson was born to Henry and Oleanna Simonson on July 25, 1918 in Fort Ransom, North Dakota. She lived a long and graceful life, passing away peacefully at the Johnson family home on September 16, 2015. After moving to Seattle in her teenage years, she graduated from Lincoln High School. Her husband, Lloyd G. Johnson, was a long-time Pan American Airways employee. Together, they traveled the world, living in such locations as Seattle, Alaska, Canton Island, San Francisco, Pakistan, and Hawaii. They finally settled in Hawaii, where they lived for over 25 years until Lloyd passed away in 1980. Lyla then returned to Seattle, the place she considered to be her real home. She is survived by her son, Lloyd “Gar” Johnson and his wife Chayanin. Graveside services on Friday, September 25, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Acacia Memorial Park, Seattle.
