Maggie was born in Karlstad, Sweden on March 6th, 1924 passed away Sunday, 9-15-2013 in Seattle, WA. She was the beloved daughter of Sven and Gerda Cajander. She was predeceased by her husband Edward and three sisters, Kerstin, Britta and Ulla. Maggie is survived by her four sons Sven (Sharon), Alex (Noreen), Rod (Theresa), and Ed (Cindy) Novion, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her sister in law Ines Novion.
Maggie grew up in Santiago, Chile where her father was the Swedish Consul. She met Edward Novion on the ski slopes at La Parva and they were happily married for 60 years until his death. She and Ed moved with their four sons to Seattle in 1964. She worked at Fredrick and Nelson in cosmetics and perfume, having quite a flair with her outfits. Maggie and Ed could be spotted on local golf courses by their matching silver white hair. They both had an enormous love for family, life, and golf. Maggie will be sorely missed. She was the life of the party with her dancing until dawn and her incredible empanadas and homemade bread! Hopefully someone can make her now famous Chilean Torta de Mil Hojas cake.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 20th, 2013 at 3 PM at Acacia Funeral Home. A celebration of Maggie and her life will be held at the home of Rod and Theresa following the service.
