

Michael Louis Yurina passed away on November 29th, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington. Born March 12,1937 to Michael and Marie (Krall). Mike grew up on Beacon Hill in Seattle. He attended Beacon Hill School and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1955 where he played baseball and was Boys’ Club President. After graduation, Mike served in the United States Navy.
He attended Everett Junior College and graduated from Western Washington University in 1963. He earned a Master of Education Degree from Seattle University in 1973.
Mike retired from DSHS Department of Developmental Disabilities in 2011.
Mike is survived by Judy, his loving wife of 51 years; his son Ryan (Jamie); and three children from his previous marriage: David (Cheryl), Gary, and Michele Yurina; stepson Kevin (Kelly) Glantz; grandsons: Zayne Glantz and Austin Yurina; brothers: Jim and Bob (Valerie) Yurina and a large extended family. He was an avid sports fan (Huskies, Seahawks, Mariners and Notre Dame). He enjoyed golfing and playing tennis in a senior league. He loved to travel. His favorites were cruises and frequent trips to Maui.
A celebration of his life will be held after the first of the year.
