Michele Prum, also known by her Cambodian name Prum Sokunneary (ព្រុំ សុគណ្ណនារី), passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 62. She was born on February 1, 1963, to Prum Sarun (ព្រុំ សារុណ) and Suon Cheang (សួន ឈៀង).
Michele was the beloved mother of two children, Nathalie Chan and Botra Chan, whom she loved deeply and devoted her life to raising. She was a proud Cambodian genocide survivor, a woman of incredible strength who endured hardship and many battles with illness and cancer with courage, grace, and resilience.
She was known for her kindness, generosity, and love for family. Michele found joy in simple pleasures—shopping, cooking, going on walks, visiting the beach, dancing, and spending time with her loved ones. She enjoyed going to the mall, traveling, and sharing laughter with family and friends. Her sense of humor, warm spirit, and ability to make others smile will be remembered always.
Michele leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and selflessness. She was a strong mother, a kind friend, and a joyful presence who brought light to everyone around her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who were blessed to know her.
