Nell met her husband Bob in Denver, Colorado, where she moved after high school. They had their two sons, Michael and Randy in Denver. The family later moved back to Washington State, where Nell gave birth to her two daughters, Michelle and Julie. Though she was more of an introvert and a true homebody, she did enjoy annual family downhill ski trips to Montana. She and Bob were also very excited to welcome two grandchildren from Michelle and Tim - Sarah and Kayla.
She loved spending time with family, and also really enjoyed having everyone on several family trips to Chelan, Big White Ski Resort in BC, and California. She was blessed by her supportive church family at her church home of many years - First Seattle Christian Reformed Church - now called Shoreline Christian. Nell had a soft heart towards animals, especially cats, and the injured birds she would find. She even welcomed the rats Julie brought home as pets from the University of Washington animal learning lab, so she REALLY had a soft heart!
She is survived by her loving and generous husband, Robert Thompson; her son, Michael Thompson; her daughters, Michelle Davenport and Julie Thompson; her grandchildren, Sarah and Kayla; her sister, Mari; and her brother, Clarence. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marcella Snapper; her son, Randy; her sisters, Kathy and Alice; and her brother, Don.
She is now joyfully reunited with them in the presence of her Savior. Our family finds deep comfort and gratitude knowing that Nell knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. We will miss her dearly, but we hold firmly to the hope of seeing her again in Heaven because of our faith in Christ. As Scripture promises, she is “absent from the body and present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). One day we will all be together again, worshiping Jesus with no more pain, no more tears, and only eternal joy.
