

Paz Maza Smith, 91, of Port Orchard, WA, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025. Born on December 19, 1933, in the Philippines to Trinidad and Alejandro Maza, she lived a life defined by faith, kindness, and devotion to family.
Paz was first married to the late Leo T. Mayo, with whom she shared many hardworking years running a strawberry and raspberry farm in Port Orchard. She later served as a Dietary Supervisor at the Retsil Veterans Home, where she was known for her compassion and dedication. After Leo’s passing, she found love again with her second husband, Henry Smith, with whom she shared 44 joyful years. Though Paz had no children, she was a guiding light to her many nieces and nephews, offering steady love, wisdom, and encouragement. Deeply rooted in her community and church, Paz touched countless lives with her warmth and gentle spirit.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in West Seattle. Visitation and viewing will take place from 9:30–11:30 a.m., followed by burial services beginning at 12:00 p.m.
