April 27, 1944 - July 6, 2021
Prisco Pornillos Daza, 77, passed away peacefully and comfortably at home
surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren on Tuesday July 6,
2021.
Prisco Daza was born to Lutgarda and Jesus Daza; he is one of six children and
spent his childhood in Nabua, Camarines Sur. He then moved to Manila to pursue
animal husbandry at Araneta University. During those years, he met the love of
his life, Evangeline Maza, on a jeepney ride to school and after a long courtship,
they married in 1971. He then joined the Philippine Army to support his growing
family of seven children and in 1981, he worked in Saudi Arabia, away from his
family for 6 years. In 1988, his wife and children immigrated to the United States
of America where they temporarily lived in Port Orchard, Washington. Once
settled to life in the US, he obtained a job in Seattle where the whole family
eventually lived.
Fun, loving, and caring are all words that resonate with his life today, including
his favorite thing to say; “don’t tell me, show me.” He’s a man of presence with a
subtle swagger, a dapper dresser who loves his Jordans and wing tip shoes. As a
father, he doesn’t say much but when he does, it’s powerful and insightful so one
has to listen. He shows his love and care through his cooking. He loves to cook
adobo for his grandchildren and pancit on their birthdays even when they can’t
celebrate in person. As he would say, “pancit, for long life.” He’s most happy
when everyone is together; laughing, eating, and watching sports.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evangeline, of 49 years, his seven amazing
children and in-laws (Marjorie (Dennis), Jennifer, Riza (Justin), Ray (Mitchelle),
Vivian (Jason), Evelyn and Eric (Kathy)), fourteen grandchildren (Sean, William,
Jaelyn, Katelyn, Payton, Marcus, Gabriel, Noah, Xavier, Logan, Madison, Macie,
Owen and Mateo) and sister, Araceli Anders and two brothers, Rogelio and Mario
Daza. We will forever love and cherish him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lutgarda and Jesus Daza, and two
siblings, Pedro and Leticia Daza.
Calling hours are scheduled 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at
Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Fr. Reynaldo Yu officiating.
