

Robert E. Phifer, 93 passed away peacefully in his sleep August 3rd, 2013. Born January, 3rd 1920, in Okolona, Ark. to Robert P. and Roxie (Stitt) Phifer. Mr. Phifer joined the U.S Army and was honorably discharged from Fort Lewis in 1943. That same year he sent for his fiancée, Margaret Washington from Okolona, Ark. And both decided to make Seattle their home. Margaret passed away in May of 1966. Mr. Phifer remained a resident in Seattle’s Central area for over 65 years.
Mr. Phifer was employed at Sand Point Naval Air Force Base for over 20 years and upon retiring worked in the Environmental Health Dept. for the City Of Seattle. He enjoyed attending church, good music, friends, relatives and playing dominoes.
Leaving to mourn his passing are daughters Maria and Hermeae Phifer, one dear sister Leola Sims, special cousins Cody and James Floyd, special nephews Ulester Garry and Earl Lewis Phifer and nieces Ruth Thomas and Dorothy Saunders, grandchildren: Mandeisha Thomas, Maryam Mason and Rabanni FurQan, and numerous relatives, friends and acquaintances.
The following preceded him in death: wife, Margaret, son Paul; brothers- Simon, Lewis, and Fred Phifer; Sisters- Evelyn Anderson, Katie Bean and Mary Pearl Abraham.
