She met and married the love of her life, Robert Varon, and they celebrated over 50 years together before his passing in 2004. Robert and Velma were owners of various ladies retail stores in the greater Seattle area including at the Northgate and Southcenter malls.
She was an avid golfer and a member of the Everett Golf and Country Club as well as Rancho Las Palmas Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA.
Velma is survived by her daughters Linda Williams (Mason) and Carolyn Fletcher (Ken). She is also survived by several grandchildren; Shelly Williams, Bobby Williams (Bianca), Kristina Hatloe (Jim) and Kara MacDonald (Ian) as well three great grandchildren; Jacob and Nicholas Hatloe and Brook Williams.
A service for Velma will be held on Saturday August 24, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Acacia Memorial Park, Seattle, WA.
