Till this day I can honestly say that Mr Carey was not only the best math teacher I ever had, but one of the best teachers ever throughout  my schooling. I will always remember him by his old school Mets jacket and his gentlemen attitude. I just now found out that he passed away 3 years ago and I would have liked to attended his memorial service had I known. My condolences go out to his family. Rest In Peace Mr Carey, thank you for everything.

I'm deeply saddened to have heard the news of Mr. Carey's passing. He was truly a brilliant teacher and will always be remembered fondly. I feel blessed and honored to have known him. May he R.I.P with the rest of the Angels. God Bless.

It was an absolute privilege to be your student and your friend since 1994. You are the true meaning of a great teacher and a close friend. I will miss forever miss you and will always remember and cherish our great times together. Rest in Peace Mr. Carey.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Carey was one of my high school geometry teachers, and it didn't take long to learn he was an excellent teacher and an even better man.

I had the fortune of having Mr Carey twice as a teacher at Prep, junior and senior year. He was a great man who I shared many a laugh with during those years and into adulthood. He was a good teacher because he made me into a decent math student but he was a good, fair man who expressed so much pride in me in my career. God bless him for being a good Prep man as a student ans later a teacher

My sincerest condolences are with you.  Charlie will definitely be missed:  his sense of humor, his attention to detail, and his love of grammar.  (I once heard him correct a priest!).  We had a great time when he visited me at the Metropolitan Museum.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Carey. He was my algebra teacher at St Peter's Prep in 1966..He was a great guy and caring teacher and used to drive some of us home after school near Weehawken. I remember he also worked at Sears as a shoe salesman to make extra money..
