John E. Mason Sr.

John (Jack) E. Mason, Sr., 88, of Secaucus, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, NJ entered eternal rest on January 18, 2023. Jack was a Pressman for the Star-Ledger in Newark (later Montville) for close to 50 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, The Catholic War Veterans and K&S Club in Secaucus for many years.

Beloved husband of Betty Mason (nee Hart) for 67 years. Devoted father of John Mason and his wife Coleen, the late Jacqueline Lesh-Franks and her husband Al. Loving grandfather of Alexis & Johnna Mason, the late Christopher Bann, Joseph Franks, Danielle Martinez and Tiffany Franks. Great grandfather of Steven, Anthony, Juliana, Annabelle, Aubrey, Ryan and Carly. Loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. John is pre-deceased by his parents, John & Marie Mason (nee Strain).

A visitation for Jack will be held Monday January 23, 2023, from 4 to 8 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A Funeral Home Service will occur Tuesday at 10AM at Mack Memorial Home followed by his Committal Service at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
