Luke V. Scalero

Luke V. Scalero, age 99, of Secaucus, NJ passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Luke was born and raised with his 2 sisters in Union City to the late Vincent and Maria (Ostuni) Scalero. While he lived in Weehawken for many years, he has lived the last 4 years here in Secaucus with his granddaughter, Olivia. He is a Veteran of the Army Air Corp where he repaired and piloted planes, eventually becoming a tool and Die Mechanic before retiring. He passed about 1-month shy of his 100th birthday and is the last surviving member of The Downtowners Club of Union City.

Luke was a husband to his beloved wife of 65 years, the late Lorraine (Taylor) Scalero; Devoted father of the late Vincent Scalero and his wife Marie, the late Marietta Ross and her husband Larry, and to Larry Scalero and his wife Donna. He was a cherished Grandfather to Christopher Scalero and his wife Mary, Michael Scalero and his wife Emily, and Sarah and Olivia Scalero. Luke had the rare opportunity to become a great grandfather 5 times: to Jessie, Luke, Will, Emma, and Anna Scalero.

A memorial visitation for Luke will be held on Thursday the 16th of February from 4-8pm at the Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ.
