Mary Avoletta

Born in Hoboken on March 24, 1968 to the late Veronica Spellman and Patrick McLaughlin, Mary lived in Weehawken for her entire life. This is where Mary met her loving husband, Mike, and where they raised their sons, Joseph and Michael. Mary was the rock of the family and always took great care of her loved ones.

Survivors include her son, Joseph and his wife Natalie, two adoring grandchildren, Gemma and Juliana, Michael and his wife, Luisa, and their unborn child expected in just a couple of weeks. Mary is also survived by her siblings Patrick, John, Veronica, and James and many nieces and nephews.

Mary loved her family dearly, and wore many hats as Mom, Sister, and Wife. Sometimes it was doctor Mary, or chef Mary, or teacher Mary, or handyman Mary she always knew just what to do to help or comfort a loved one.

Mary’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday, May 26 from 4-8 PM at the Leber Funeral Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, May 27 at St. Lawrence Church, Weehawken, at 10:30 AM. Friends and family may begin gathering at 9:30 AM, Wednesday morning before services at the funeral home. In accordance with her wishes, a private cremation will follow.
