

Raymond Francis Halpin, Sr., went home to the Lord on August 4, 2016. Born in Jersey City, son of the late Mary and Michael Halpin. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Gladys in 2004. He is survived by his children Denise and Joseph Van Heumen, Raymond and Kathleen Halpin, Mickey Halpin and Paulette Halpin. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jason Van Heumen, Tara Van Heumen, Matthew Halpin and Michael Halpin and his wife Jessica. He is also survived by his special grand daughter Robynne Walka and special great grandson Jeremy Walka. Ray is also survived by his sister-in-law Bernice Matano and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Raymond served in the US Army in 1945-1946 in Japan. He was President of the Secaucus Little League in the 1960's and worked with Secaucus Babe Ruth. Baseball and the youth of Secaucus was very important to him. He was the President of Construction/Laborers Union 409. He loved to travel and Aruba was the place Ray and Gladys enjoyed the most. His love of the beach began with spending his childhood summers in Keansburg, NJ. He loved the NY Mets, the NY Rangers, and Notre Dames "Fighting Irish". He was a proud Irish man who enjoyed his life to the fullest. He will be so very missed. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 6th from 7-9 pm and Sunday, August 7th from 2~4 and 7~9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 9th at 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Arrangements are being handled by Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus, NJ.
