Walter Gallagher

Walter Gallagher, age 101, of Moonachie, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Walter was born in Jersey City and lived most of his life in Jersey City, Secaucus, and finally settling in Moonachie. He worked for Westinghouse Elevator for almost 40 years and then 25 years as a crossing guard for The Township of Secaucus. He was a Proud Veteran of World World II with the U.S.Navy serving as a Navy Corpsman in the Pacific Theater with the Marines.

Walter was the loving husband of 72 years to his wife Mary (McNicholas) Gallagher; Devoted father of Kenneth, Linda, Donna, Kevin, & Keith; Cherished Grandfather "PopPop" to Owen, Ian, Billie, Kate, Gabrielle, Joey, and Caroline; as well as many loving extended family members and friends.

A visitation for Walter will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4 to 8PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ . A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Tuesday, April 22nd at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ followed by his burial at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
