Bobby Gene McKinley

In high school, Bobby was active in FFA and won the Grand Champion with his steer at the 1949 American Royal Livestock show in Kansas City.

Bobby retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 2005, after 49 years of service. During his time there, he won several ODOT Safety Awards.

One of Bobby’s achievements was becoming a 32˚ Scottish Rite Freemason. He was also a part of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma and Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Bobby married Mourine Johnston on April 1, 1950, in Hazel Dale, OK.

Bobby was a caretaker at heart and a very generous person. He had many friends at the Golden Oaks Assisted Living Center in Stillwater. He was selfless and wanting to put others first. Bobby loved his family and being with them. He resided at Golden Oaks Village Assisted Living Center in Stillwater, OK since 2009.

He is preceded in death by his parents Dan and Lura McKinley; wife Mourine McKinley; daughter Deborah McKinley; brother Billy Dan McKinley and wife Louise of Shawnee, OK; brother Norris McKinley and wife Beatrice of McLoud, OK.

He is survived by daughter Dianna Galloway and husband Dan of Stillwater, OK; grandsons Chad Pool and wife Kelly of Sidell, LA, Todd Pool and wife Amanda of Stillwater, OK; granddaughter Michele Sherfield Pool and fiancé Jared Acklin of Tecumseh, OK; great grandchildren Aaron Pool, Zachary Pool, Hannah Pool, Kaitlyn Pool, Dylan Sherfield, Seth Sherfield, Jackson Pool, and Roman Pool; and great great grandson Noah Pool.

A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Golden Oaks for the great care they administered to him. Also, a special thanks for Companion Hospice for the care and friendship they had with him over the past 2 years. He was loved by many!
