

Debora Sue Malone went to be with the Lord October 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. A Public visitation will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee, Oklahoma from 4-8 PM. A Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee, Oklahoma at 2 PM.
Debora was born February 28, 1949 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to William Duncan Bowie Sr. and Virginia Sue (Brooks) Bowie. Debora graduated from Tecumseh High School and went to Oscar Rose Junior College. She earned a Military Associates. She played basketball in High School and College, was a swimming instructor, played pool, bowled, and loved to water ski.
After College, Debora joined the Army and then the Air Force. She was a supply technician and scheduled maintenance for the aircrafts. While on active duty, Debora was part of the United States Air Force National Honor Guard Team. She was a senior NCO in the United States Air Force. Debora was deployed to the Masirah Island South of Oman for Operation Enduring Freedom. She also served in Okinawa, Japan; Guam; and Germany. Debora was extremely proud to be a veteran and to be an American.
On November 12, 1994, Debora married the love of her life, Jerald W. Malone Sr., in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Debora loved her family. She was extremely proud of all her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments and when the grandchildren were born. She would often brag about each of them to whoever she may find to talk to. Debora loved cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed having Christmas with the whole family together and having a big birthday celebration in May around Mother’s Day for everyone’s birthday. She also enjoyed watching football.
Debora was preceded in death by her parents William Duncan Bowie Sr. and Virginia Sue (Brooks) Bowie, and her son Dwayne Keith Furgason. Debora is survived by her husband Jerald W. Malone Sr. of the home; daughter Michelle Elliott and husband Anthony of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son Keith Bowie and wife Crystal of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; son Thomas Gerber of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Anna Sanchez and husband Bobby of Shawnee, Oklahoma; grandchildren Amanda and husband Colten, Alex, Caitlin and husband Bryan, Dravin and wife Mary, Bradin, Autumn, Corbin, Elaina and husband Mateo, Payton, Hannah, Stevi, and Brennon; great grandchildren Forrest and Waverly; brother-in-law Gary Malone and wife Beth of Rockwell, Texas; brother-in-law David Malone and wife Jeannie of Meeker, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Johnnie Malone and wife Susie of Shawnee, Oklahoma; cousins Tim and wife Mary, David and Wife Denise, Diana and husband Charles; two nieces; three nephews; and many more extended family and friends.
Debora had a big heart and would give anything she had to help someone. She was tenacious, bold, and fought for what she believed in. Her passing has left a big hole in the lives of all her family and will be dearly missed.
