Donald Lee Smith

Donald Lee Smith. Of Shawnee, OK left this Earth on February 5th, 2026, to join his Savior in Heaven. Don was 83 years old. Donald was born in Plymouth, Indiana in the year 1942 to Donald and Shirley Smith. After serving two years in the army, he thereafter moved to Oklahoma where he remained. He moved to Shawnee in 1971 where he married Kathleen Gearhardt in 1972 and raised three children. He worked for Barton Valve Co., Oil Tool Specialties, and S and S feed before working and retiring from COJC in Tecumseh as a Youth Guidance Specialist in 2005. Don loved sports and played softball for many years and supported his children and grandchildren through all their social activities. He was a long-time member and very involved with his church, serving as a trustee, and a S.S. director for many years at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. His highlight was meeting with the men of the church for breakfast on Saturday mornings. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister Nancy and a younger brother, David He is survived by his wife Kathy of 54 years, three children; Brett Smith and Gina of Prague, OK; Darla Iddings and husband John, of Shawnee, OK; and Kelly Blue of Mustang, OK. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Joey Smith of California; Paige Iddings and Addison Iddings of Shawnee, OK; Kyler Blue of Mustang, OK; Jacob Lindsay and Shayla of Prague, OK; and Taylor Lindsay, of Meeker, OK. He is also survived by his seven great grandchildren and his three brothers: Bob, Gary, and Greg of Indiana as well as his sister Martha of Indiana. He is also survived by his wonderful church family. Donald will be greatly missed by so many. Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mt, Pleasant Baptist Church, 7101 Kings Rd, Shawnee, Ok 74804. Dennis Traxler will be officiating.
