

Edith Marie (Whiteley) Garner passed away November 23, 2012 in Moore, OK at the age of 81. She was born in Coalgate, Oklahoma January 24, 1931 to Benjamin Franklin and Ovie “Patty” (Bachhofer) Whiteley. She was raised and attended school in Shawnee. She married Dale J. Garner, September 5, 1950 and moved to Maud, OK where they lived for 5 years before moving back to Shawnee in 1955. Edith has been a hairdresser since 1948 and was a long standing "beauty operator" in Shawnee, OK. She was a member of Northeast Free Will Baptist Church where she started the “Older Adult Still In Service” group and was a Ladies Auxillery president. Edith was preceded in death by her husband; Dale J. Garner, her father; Frank Whiteley, her mother Ovie “Patty” Moore, her step-father; Harry Edward Moore, her sisters; Patricia Ann Whiteley, Dorthy Lee Wade, and her brother; Bill Whiteley. She is survived by her sisters; Lorraine Whiteley of Houston, TX, Corkey Birdsell of Hobbs N.M., Jerry Sue Sanders, of Duncan, OK, her brother; Ben Ray Whiteley and Marie of Arlington, TX, her step-brothers; Bill Moore and Phyliss of Moyie Springs ID, Richard Gary Moore, of Cushing, OK, her son; Michael Dale Garner and Joyce of Los Banos, CA, her daughters; Patricia Marie Scroggins of Moore, OK, Dee Ann Cobbs and Corky of Shawnee, OK, Angela Garner and John Daniels of Moore, OK, Ray Lee Culver and Margaret of Yukon, OK, her grandchildren; Byron Garner, Curtis Garner, Travis Scroggins and Angel, Shelli Harding and Christopher, Breanna Cobbs and Jason, Joshua Culver and Janie, her great-grandchildren; Tate Garner, Madysen Tommervik, Katlyne Scroggins, Emarie Harding, Jason Sartin, Jayce Sartin, JoLee Culver, Rayne Culver and one on the way, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
