Elsie Joann Knox

Shawnee resident, Elsie “Joann” Knox, age 82, left this world for the arms of Christ on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. She was born on January 9, 1933 to the late Elmer and Georgia Smedley in Los Angeles, CA. Joann loved the Lord and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Shawnee. She was a wonderful cook and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Joann was preceded in death by her first husband, David Esau Climer of 33 years; late husband John Knox; grandson, Jonathan Climer; great-granddaughter, Mirayah Waller; and four siblings, Bill Smedley, Fred Smedley, Lucille Smith, and Bobbie Quick.

She is survived by two sons, David Climer and wife Cindy and Dan Climer and wife Kathy; four grandchildren, Cacie Duncan, Katie Parsons, Cassidy Climer, and Kelly Waller; six great grandchildren, Cayden Waller, Leighton Parsons, Chloe Duncan, Landry Parsons, Mattie Waller, and Corbin Duncan; and one brother, Charles Smedley.

The funeral service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 1pm with Phil Thompson officiating.
