Oklahoma City resident, Ernest Charles Pulse, 89, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. He was born on April 6, 1926 in Brooken, Oklahoma to Austin Pulse and Edna Thompson. Ernest joined the United States Navy on August 25, 1943 at the age of 17. He served on the USS Minneapolis and was honorably discharged on March 31, 1946. During World War II, he earned the Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 7 Stars, and the Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon with 2 Stars. After the war, he spent most of his working life as a maintenance supervisor for Celanese. While at Celanese, he met Yuhui Jin. They married on October 14, 1996. Ernest was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Leon Pulse; brother, Herbert Clifford Pulse; and step-father, Mike Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Yuhui (Jane) Pulse; 1 sister; 8 children; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Highland Cemetery in Okemah
